Pat Kingsely just let me know that Chet DeVore died recently after a fall on Christmas morning. He will be remembered fondly as a great principal for Chula Vista High and a very good guy. Mr. DeVore is survived by his wife of 64 years, Helen; their four children, twins Janet Arnold of Eureka and John of Chula Vista; James of Santa Rosa and Ann Pugh of Santa Rosa; a brother, William, of Idaho; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Chester S. DeVore Student Scholarship Fund at Southwestern College, 900 Otay Lakes Road, Chula Vista, CA 91910. The Committee did a grand job of the 50th Reunion. It was a great success. Even the food was good! I hope all who enjoyed it appreciate the amount of work it takes to put on something like that. What a pleasure, and what a great group of people. I hope the All Class reunion went off as well. If anyone has pictures of it, send them over and I will put them up. The committee just sent out a questionaire to see if anyone is interested in doing a 55th reunion. If your email address is not on there, get in touch with me and I will put it up. As some of you know, I drew again in the elk lottery. Had a good time out in the hills, but no sign of anything, and no shots. Country was driest I have ever seen it, and there was a nice new fence keeping us out the the area I wanted to hunt.
